For 21 years Mr Marinakis had been working in ship management companies in various operational, commercial and managerial positions, with a mindset focused on solid organisation, relation-building on the grounds of respect and elaborated strategic ship
employment. Being a long-time client of Island Oil for many years and sharing the same values, he became its COO in 2021. Since then, he oversees the commercial and operational activities of its 6 trading offices around the world, participating in the group’s
efforts to fulfil its vision to organically grow and better serve its customers.
Mr Marinakis is also Managing Director of Prodromos Shipping Agencies (established 1969), member of the Board of Directors of the Piraeus Marine Club since 2004 and a Hellenic Chamber of Shipping maritime arbitrator. He is an Athens College graduate, holds a BSc in Economics from the Athens School of Economics and a MSc in Shipping, Trade & Finance from City University, London.
