Who is EUROMAR?

EUROMAR, as the official agent for MAR – The International Shipping Register of Madeira, provides comprehensive support to ship managers in all aspects of ship registration. Vessels registered with MAR fly the Portuguese flag and operate with the home port of “Madeira”.

Established in 2013 by Managing Directors Albrecht Gundermann and Jörg Molzahn, EUROMAR has s played a pivotal role in the remarkable growth of the Portuguese-flagged fleet. The fleet has increased from 130 to an impressive 860 ships, with tonnage surging from 1 million to an remarkable 29.6 million deadweight tons (dwt). This transformation has elevated Portugal from 15th to 3rd position in the European Union and from 55th to 11th globally (in dwt), garnering satisfaction from approximately 180 shipowners and ship managers.

Functioning as a private intermediary on behalf of shipping companies, EUROMAR streamlines communication with relevant authorities in Portugal for flag and ship registration matters.
