Theo Kourmpelis is Global business director for tankers at Lloyd’s Register, based in Athens. He is also representing IACS at the International Maritime Organization with respect to agenda items related to GHG emissions reduction. Theo has held various positions within LR, both in business development and technical departments of the organization. He has also participated in several EU funded projects related to ship electrification and alternative fuels as a subject matter expert and project manager. Theo is author and co-author of more than 15 paper publications in international conferences and journals. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering in National Technical University of Athens.
