Peggy Papastavrou is a qualified lawyer at the Athens Bar since 1989, specialized in the EU capital markets legislation and the Greek corporate and securities law. She has been working at the Athens Stock Exchange group (ATHEX Group) as an inhouse lawyer since 1999, and currently holds the position of the Listings Director, responsible for new listings at the ATHEX markets, support of listed companies’ corporate actions and monitoring of the latter’s compliance with the ATHEX Rulebook.

During all these years she has been participating in the Group’s on-going business development projects related to new products or markets, including corporate bonds, REICs and exchange traded funds.

She has represented ATHEX Group in a series of Greek law preparatory committees for the REICs, UCITS, corporate bonds, listing of shipping companies on ATHEX and EU emission allowances auctions, and she has participated in many international projects (Linkup, Target2Securities, MOUs with international exchanges/clearing houses),as well as in many conferences in the financial sector in Greece and abroad.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the School of Law of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (1987) and obtained her Master’s Degree in Civil Law from the same University (1994). She speaks fluent English, German, basic French and Greek (native speaker).
