Michael Kourtesis is a Greek maritime professional and the founder of SEAHAWK Gas S.A., which he established in 2024 and where he currently serves as Managing Director. At the same time, since 2021 he has been Managing Director of SEAHAWK Maritime S.A., having followed a steadily progressing career within the same company. In earlier roles, he served as Financial Manager as well as Superintendent in the Technical Department and Financial Coordinator. Through these positions, he has gained comprehensive experience in the operation and management of shipping companies, covering areas such as technical supervision of vessels, financial coordination, and strategic development.

His professional path began with internships at notable organizations in the maritime sector, including SEAHAWK Maritime S.A., Lloyd’s Register in Piraeus, Libra Shipping S.A., and the shipyards of Besiktas Gemi Insa A.S. in Turkey, where he was exposed to different aspects of shipbuilding, maritime operations, and marine inspections. These early experiences provided him with a well-rounded understanding of the shipping industry.

He holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, City, University of London, and a BEng in Naval Architecture from SUNY Maritime College (State University of New York). He is fluent in Greek and English and has a good command of German. In his free time, he is actively engaged with the sea, holding a skipper’s sailing license and a professional diving certification (Dive Master), and he also enjoys skiing and fitness.
