Dora Tsiourva is a Researcher in the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She holds a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from NTUA and has been conducting research in the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering since 2002. Her expertise lies in Corrosion Engineering of metallic materials and structures, with research areas including alternative fuels for shipping, ammonia and hydrogen, carbon capture technologies, and new materials and fabrication methods for the shipping industry. She has participated to numerous European and national projects. Dora also has international experience from a scholarship at the University of Venice and an internship at Princeton University.
She teaches corrosion-related subjects at NTUA and has supervised several Diploma Theses. She has published peer-reviewed journal papers, conference papers, technical
reports, and a book chapter on Corrosion of Weldments. She has also served as a project manager for academic development projects at NTUA and, since 2022, has been a member of the International Ship Structure Committee, focusing on Materials and Fabrication.
