Bart Veldhuizen started his career in 1994 with Van Ommeren, after which he joined DVB Bank working in both Rotterdam and Piraeus. In 2000, he joined Smit International in Greece and Singapore. From 2003 onwards, he worked for various financial institutions including Lloyds Bank in London. From 2015 to 2017, Mr Veldhuizen served on the board of managing directors of DVB Bank where he was amongst others responsible for the bank’s shipping and offshore franchises.

Through his company Aquarius Maritime Capital Ltd, he advises credit funds and private equity firms on a variety of shipping investments. Bart currently serves as a non executive on the board of Eagle Bulk Shipping, a NYSE listed dry bulk shipping company. Previous board positions include Seadrill Partners, Golar Partners and Diamond S Shipping.
