Antonis Kanellakis is Executive Director of a privately owned group of companies that includes the Athens-based ship management firms Alpha Bulkers, Pantheon Tankers, and Alpha Gas, which operate a modern fleet of dry bulk, tanker, and LNG vessels serving the bulk, oil, and gas markets, respectively.

The Group’s origins date back to 1947, when Antonis’s grandfather, Antonis Angelicoussis, founded the business. Today, the fleet comprises 83 vessels, making it one of Greece’s largest shipowning groups, with more than 3,000 employees at sea and ashore. As part of its ongoing expansion and diversification, the Group has recently invested in 25 newbuildings, further expanding its presence across all three market segments while also entering new shipping markets such as containers and LPG carriers.

Antonis holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from University College London and a master’s degree in Marine Engineering, also from University College London. He began his career as an in-house chartering broker at the family’s London office, where he worked from 2010 until relocating to Athens in 2015 to join the Group’s headquarters.

Antonis has served on the Board of Directors of the NorthStandard P&I Club since 2018 and also serves on the boards of the Union of Greek Shipowners and the Greek Shipping Cooperation Committee in London.
