Alexis joined Goldenport Holdings Inc. as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Investor Relations in August 2013 and was appointed Group CFO in February 2014. In 2016, he successfully managed to de-list and re-capitalize the fleet of Goldenport Holdings Inc. which was absorbed by the Goldenport Group. Since then, he has structured several joint venture partnerships with strategic and financial investors and diversified the Group’s sources of funding to include Chinese and Japanese leasing. The Group today operates a fleet of 25 dry bulk carriers, 6 containerships, 20 product tankers and one LPG carrier, including two dry bulk carriers and seven product tankers on order.

Alexis was previously a Managing Director in the investment banking department of UBS AG based in London, where he led the origination, structuring and execution of a number of capital market and M&A transactions across a wide swath of industries with a particular focus on financial institutions and shipping.

He holds a BSc in Monetary and Financial Economics from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and an MSc in Banking and Finance from HEC Lausanne, Switzerland. He is fluent in Greek, English, French and German.
