Stavros N. Papastavrou is the Minister of Environment and Energy.
He served as a Minister of State from June 2023 to March 2024.
He is an attorney-at-law, with postgraduate studies at Harvard Law School, Harvard University.
He has worked for more than three decades as a legal advisor in the private sector, specialized in corporate law and capital markets, both in Washington D.C. and Athens.
He was appointed as Head of the Prime Minister’s Office of European Affairs and International Relations and served as chief negotiator of the Greek state with the European partners and the International Monetary Fund, in 2012-2015.
He served as Secretary of International Relations and the European Union of New Democracy Party (2004-2012). He was elected Chairman of DEMYC (Democrat Youth Community of Europe, 1997-2001), he was a founding member of the Youth of the European People’s Party (YEPP) and a member of the Political Council of the European People’s Party.
