Mr. George Procopiou is the founder of Sea Traders SA, Dynacom Tankers Management Ltd, and Dynagas Ltd. <\/p>\n
Holding a degree in civil engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Mr. Procopiou has managed over the years a shipping fleet in excess of 500 vessels since first entering the shipping business in 1971 by purchasing one third of a vessel. <\/p>\n
Since 2002, he has built more than 120 vessels at shipyards in Japan, South Korea and China. <\/p>\n
In 2005 Dynacom was awarded Tanker Company of the Year award by Lloyd\u2019s List. <\/p>\n
In 2012 Dynagas made history, when the company\u2019s LNG carrier OB RIVER became the world first LNG Carrier to transit and carry a cargo through the Northern Sea Route. <\/p>\n
In 2013 Mr. Procopiou was named Greek Shipping Personality of the Year by Lloyd\u2019s List. <\/p>\n
In 2015 Dynagas received Statoil\u2019s \u201cWorking Safely With Suppliers\u201d operator award for safety performance above industry standards. <\/p>\n
In June 2017 Mr. Procopiou was presented with Seatrade\u2019s \u201cLifetime Achievement Award\u201d. <\/p>\n
Mr. Procopiou has served as Chairman of the North of England P&I Association and is currently Chairman of the Greek committee of Bureau Veritas, Chairman of CCS Mediterranean Committee, as well as a member of the Greek committees of DNV GL, Lloyd\u2019s Register and ABS.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
