Angie Hartmann

Speaker Executive Vice President - Crew Affairs, Star Bulk

Angie has been an active member of the Greek shipping community for the last 29 years. In 1984, she attended Psychology-related courses at the University of La Verne, while in 1989 she obtained her Diploma in Travel & Tourism from Hosta International Leysin in Switzerland. Between 1989 and 1991, she worked in Geneva for Transworld Airlines (TWA).

In 1992, Angie returned to Greece and until recently she has been managing the crew functions of Oceanbulk Maritime S.A. and Star Bulk S.A, as a Crew Manager, which is a Nasdaq-listed shipping company with a fleet of 116 newly built dry-bulk cargo vessels with an aggregate capacity of 12.9 million deadweight. She currently holds the position of Executive Vice President – Crew Affairs and is in charge of monitoring the crew plans on bulk carriers adhering to sound manning practices and proper financial principles, as well as strengthening the company’s affairs with crews. For this reason, Angie often travels to Manila and the rest of the world, in order to keep close contact with the crew, promote the companies’ brand name and always exploring future potential markets.

Also, Angie is an active member of WISTA Hellas since 1999, and has been President of WISTA Hellas from April 2014 up to 17 June 2020 and current ExCo member of WISTA International since October 2018. She is bilingual (English/Greek) and also speaks French. Finally, she has attended numerous maritime conferences either as a participant or speaker.
