Korinna Tapaktsoglou serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Pioneer Marine since 2017 and she is responsible for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all financial activities. She joined the company in 2014 where she held the position of VP Finance and Accounts. Prior to working for Pioneer Marine, she was head of Internal Audit & Compliance and Business controller in a NYSE listed dry bulk company. She also held the position as an Audit Manager at PwC Greece.
Mrs. Tapaktsoglou has over 24 years of experience in the areas of Finance, Audit, Financial Report and Management Accounting out of which 16 years in the shipping Industry. Together with the COO is responsible for the daily Management of the Pioneer Marine Inc. while as member of the Executive Management team she supplies strategic recommendations to the BOD for developing new business, formulating the Company’s Strategy and maintaining and monitoring business plans and budgets.
Mrs. Tapaktsoglou’s role in shaping organizational ethics and ensuring that PM is in line with their core values is of high importance to her. She strives to exemplify enthusiasm, professionalism, integrity and her moto is “teamwork” and “leading by example”. These are all key elements that help her on both a personal and professional level by standing out in this globalized industry, while also gaining the respect of investors, financial institutions, business partners and stakeholders.
Korinna has received an Honors bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Macedonia and is a fellow member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (“ACCA”).
