Katerina has a total working experience of 37 years of which 34 years have been in managerial positions in the fields of Shipping Banking and Finance.
Katerina started her career in shipping in 1985 as Assistant CFO for Athenian Sea Carriers, one of the traditional and prestigious Greek shipping Groups, and continued into Banking in 1992 as Head of Shipping Finance for two Greek private Banks, responsible for setting up and developing their shipping loan portfolios. She was also a Credit Committee member of these banks.
Since 2000, Katerina has been with Investments & Finance Ltd as Executive Director. The company is a financial consultancy firm dedicated in providing financial and investment advisory services to shipping and corporate clients, with offices in Piraeus. The Firm’s main area of expertise is shipping and since its inception in 1987, has been involved in financial transactions raising bank debt, bonds, equity and other hybrids for various maritime clients as well as assisting in numerous restructuring and workout transactions.
Katerina is also a Lecturer on Shipping Finance at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers since 2012, with prize winners and many distinctions earned by her students, studying at the Greek branch of ICS.
Katerina is Governor of the International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus. She has also held the position of Executive Committee Member of WISTA International (2012-2018). She is an active member of WISTA Hellas, member of the Greek Shipping Bankers Association, member of the Advisory Board of Blue Growth, Board Member of iforU, member of the Young Executive Shipping Forum team, Mentor to university graduates looking to develop their talents by pursuing a career in Shipping and DNVGL Trainer.
Katerina is a frequently invited Speaker and Moderator in International Shipping Conferences held in Greece and abroad.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance from the University of Maryland, USA.
Last but not least she is the proud single mother of 2 talented young ladies, age 22 and24.
