Christoph Beneke is acting as Ship Finance Executive at Meerbaum. Meerbaum is an advising and investment entity with access to capital from institutional investors, which provides financing to small and medium sized shipping companies.
Christoph has over 30 years of experience in ship financing. He joined Meerbaum in January 2018 after having left Commerzbank at the end of 2017. In his last position at Commerzbank as Deputy Head of International Clients he was dealing with complex restructurings and portfolio transactions. This included multi-bank transactions for major liner and other listed shipping companies. Prior to that he was Head of Asia Pacific in the shipping finance unit of Commerzbank and its subsidiary Deutsche Schiffsbank. Prior to that he had covered over many years various areas in Europe and Asia as senior relationship manager. Before that, he gathered comprehensive experience in long-term export financing, also in the non-shipping industry, including dealing with various ECAs in Europe and Asia.
