Mr Nicolas A Vernicos is the Principal of the eponymous tug and salvage company Vernicos Tugs and Salvage, tracing its origin in Constantinople (today Istanbul) in 1851; he is also associated with several more shipping companies and interests, including tankers and yachts.
Further, Mr Vernicos is active in the tourism, hospitality, real estate and financial industries and serves on numerous corporate and non-profit boards. A firm believer that culture counts, Mr Vernicos is affiliated with several cultural, environmental and philanthropic causes involving Greece and the Greek culture. Mr Vernicos holds M.Sc. in Economics from the Athens University of Economics (ASOEE).
